Meet the inspector: The new GPhC pharmacy inspection & regulatory regime
Plus: Mandatory cervical cancer health campaign & NHS Service Finder

We’ve got an action-packed agenda for this event on 26th February, including the new GPhC inspection regime, the NHS Service Finder and March’s mandatory pharmacy health campaign.

It starts with an update on big changes from April 2019 to how the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) inspects and regulates pharmacies, including moving to unannounced inspections and publishing inspection reports. GPhC inspector Akhtar Malik will explain what the new system involves and how it will affect your pharmacy, and you can ask him any questions you have about regulation and inspection. GPhC Head of Education Damian Day will also be there to hear your views on plans to change initial pharmacy education and training.

The second topic is a briefing on the NHS Service Finder, a new web-based tool that enables NHS clinicians – including staff in community pharmacies – to access the urgent and emergency care Directory of Services (DoS) so they can signpost and refer patients appropriately.

Finally, you’ll also get training and resources to support your pharmacy in delivering March’s mandatory pharmacy health campaign raising awareness of cervical cancer screening.

The event starts with registration and a buffet at 6.30pm. The briefings/training sessions will run from 7pm-9.30pm.
