Wondering how your pharmacy team can manage both dispensing duties and find time for expanding services? As pharmacies navigate the crucial shift from a dispensing-centric to a service-centric model, it's clear that the challenge isn't about the size of the team but their ability to adapt and grow. This transition calls for a clever approach to utilising and enhancing the skills of your team members, especially pharmacy technicians, freeing up pharmacists to focus on more value-added tasks.

This webinar focuses on the practical strategies for making your team more versatile and skilled to meet these evolving demands. We'll address the real challenges your pharmacy may face during this transformation and explore how targeted development of your team can be the solution. The goal is to future-proof your pharmacy, ensuring your team's capabilities are in line with the changing needs of community healthcare.  Leading this essential discussion are Lynette Roberts, Director of Captivating Training Solutions and creator of ReviveRx, and Andy Moss former Head of Organisation Development at University Hospital Southampton NHS and founder of Oakbridge Consulting, with his extensive experience in organisation development. Their expertise provides a solid foundation for guiding your pharmacy through this critical transition.

Pharmacy First - Clinical Training

Pharmacy First - Clinical Training Sessions

A new Pharmacy First service which includes providing advice and NHS-funded treatment, where appropriate, for seven common conditions is due to be launched on 31st January 2024 (subject to the required IT systems being in place) as an Advanced Service.

The service involves providing consultations to give advice and NHS-funded treatment (via Patient Group Directions), where appropriate, for seven common conditions (clinical pathways consultations). The consultations can be provided to patients who self-refer to the pharmacy (e.g. walk-ins) as well as those referred by NHS 111, GPs and others.

The seven common conditions included within this service are sore throat, infected insect bites, sinusitis, shingles, earache, uncomplicated UTI in women and impetigo. PGDs will be in place to enable pharmacists to supply Prescription-Only Medicines (POMs) to treat these conditions.

Choice of Training Options Available

CPGM, NHS GM, and GMHCA have arranged clinical training as additional support for Greater Manchester Pharmacists.

The training will provide a detailed understanding of the new NHS Pharmacy First service, its objectives, and the role of community pharmacies. It will also cover the Clinical Screening of Patients, and, the Pathophysiology, Diagnosis, and Management of the seven clinical pathways.

We are offering a variety of opportunities to attend to try and accommodate everyone's differing needs and availability.

This includes Sunday sessions (either morning or afternoon), a  midweek daytime session, and a midweek evening option that is split across 2 evenings.

Please book the event most suitable for you.

All our sessions are face-to-face and are being held at:
The Hough End Centre, Mauldeth Road West, Chorlton, Manchester M21 7SX
