Covid Vaccination

Community pharmacists will be playing an important role in supporting the delivery of the COVID-19 vaccination programme.

What do you need to do to prepare?

Before you to start your learning, click on this link COVID-19 vaccinator competency assessment tool (publishing.service.gov.uk) to access the PHE assessment tool in order to assess what you need to do to be considered competent to deliver the COVID-19 vaccine.

Where can you access the e-learning COVID-19 vaccination programme?

The main learning resource is an e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH) which has all you need to deliver and be confident in delivering the vaccines and can be found on the NHS HEE website (link below).

The programme consists of three courses, all of which have assessments to test you knowledge:

  1. Core Knowledge for COVID-19 Vaccinators

  2. COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine BNT162b2

  3. COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca

The programme refers to COVID-19: the green book, chapter 14a , which is an essential resource which you should use alongside this e-learning.

Further details about this programme can be found on the e-LfH webpage at COVID-19 Vaccination - e-Learning for Healthcare (e-lfh.org.uk). Registration is free.

How do I register for the training?

There are two ways to access the COVID-19 Vaccination e-learning programme:

Access directly via e-LfH (NHS email address required)

Access directly via the website COVID-19 Vaccination - e-Learning for Healthcare (e-lfh.org.uk)

OR

Access via the CPPE website (NHS email address NOT required)

Sign into the CPPE website and access the e-Learning for Healthcare learning modules e-learning.

Additional training

After checking through the PHE assessment tool, if you are required to undertake additional training, this is also available from e-LfH. You can find it under additional training for vaccinators. The training comprises of:
